Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by our site! My name is Carole. You could consider me the founder of the group. I am an avid pit bull fan. I have one pit bull right now. His name is Chance. He is my baby. I started this group in hopes of raising awareness of the myths among society about pit bulls. I just want people to understand they are misunderstanding the breed. They are loyal, loving, and wonderful family dogs. They do not deserve to be over bred and left to fend for themselves like all too many in America are! I hope that one day we can be a state recognized 501(c)3 rescue and be a reliable safe haven for pitties all around Ohio. I have been a pittie lover for 10 years and won't own any other breed.
Hate The Deed Not The Breed!

Chance is my 8 month old rescued furbaby. When we went to look at him we almost didnt even get our of our vehicle. The home he was in was nasty. He was covered in fleas to the point that we thought he had black coloring in his fur. We got him home and washed him up, the black coloring was gone. Chance had fleas so bad that they had taken hunks of fur when we bathed him. He had several bald spots after his first bath from the fleas. He was filled with worms. When the lady bent over to pick him up he started yelping like someone was killing him, before she even touched him. After our first visit with the vet, she confirmed that the scars on his back were from cigarette burns. Now, 5 months later Chance is living the life of an overly spoiled family pet. He loves to play with other dogs, play fetch, cuddle with my 5 year old son, and of course be a 65 pound lap dog. Chance will never have to live that horrible life again because we rescued him. The bond we have with Chance is a lot stronger than normal because he knows we saved him from a bad situation.

On January 28, 2012 we got in the car and began a 120 mile trip to pick up a puppy. Kristin, one of the members of Save An Ohio Pit Bull, had told me that Jami had puppies in her care. I instantly told Kristin to have Jami get in touch with me because we wanted one. So on our journey we are. Kristin had picked the puppy up from Jami at the Stark County Pound while we were on our way to Kristin's house. Boy it sure was a long ride! We got there and met Kristin, her husband, and her foster dog Kourtney. Kristin gave us our puppy and we were on our way. We discussed a name for this new puppy the whole ride home. She was a good girl and went to potty every time we stopped. Once we got home, still no name, Jeremy starts spitting out names. Dixie came out of his mouth and it was perfect! So we now have our lovely 8 week old Miss Dixie. She is a wonderful little girl! Her and Chance love to play. They are great fur siblings. Miss Dixie is fitting in well with our family! Her and my son love to cuddle, she keeps Chance occupied, and she keeps Jeremy in a good mood! She is perfect for us! Welcome Miss Dixie!
